SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 31 – Gordon
Touset was
arrested
Federally on a
violation of
supervised
release the
moment he was
released from
New York State
custody on May
25.
Inner
City Press
witnessed but
did not yet
report
Touset's
appearance
that day in
the U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York
Magistrates
Court.
On May 31,
Touset now in
the MDC jail,
clad in its
beige uniform,
appeared
before SDNY
District Judge
George B.
Daniels.
The
prosecutors
asked for six
additional
month. But
after inquire,
Judge Daniels
gave Touset
what he called
"a break you
don't deserve"
- time served.
Touset said he
would move in
with his uncle
in Yonkers and
join an
Osborne
Society
re-entry
program.
Judge
Daniels,
delivering his
second
scared-straight
talk in an
hour, said if
Touset does
not turn it
around, he
will return to
jail. But it
may not be
Federal - no
supervised
release was
imposed, in
light of NYS
probation.
The
case is US v.
Touset,
17-cr-189
(Daniels)
