Sept 12 – FuboTV has sued
Disney, Fox and others or
alleged antitrust violations
in their Venu Sports joint
venture, has this week been
arguing for a preliminary
injunction to halt Venu before
it starts. Inner City Press is
covering it.
On August
8 before U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Judge Margaret
Garnett, defense witness Edwin
Desser was cross examined by
FuboTV's lawyer Rachel
Anderson. Thread.
On August 9,
evidence closed with defense
expert Whinston. Thread
On August 16,
Judge Garnett enjoined the JV:
"re: [94] MOTION for
Preliminary Injunction . filed
by FuboTV Inc., FuboTV Media
Inc.. The Motion is HEREBY
GRANTED. ORDER FOR PRELIMINARY
INJUNCTION ... the JV
Defendants will substantially
lessen competition and
restrain trade in the relevant
market in violation of Section
7 of the Clayton Act, 15
U.S.C. § 18. It is therefore
HEREBY ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND
DECREED that the JV Defendants
and their officers, directors,
employees, agents, and all
other persons acting on their
behalf are hereby ENJOINED and
RESTRAINED from launching the
JV pending final adjudication
of the merits of this case or
further order of the Court. SO
