The
Assistant US
Attorney said
she hadn't had
time to agree
to bail
conditions
with
(seemingly
retained, that
is, not CJA)
counsel. Judge
Cott asked,
not
unfriendly,
Then why did
we begin?
After a
30 second
whispered
conversation,
the bail
conditions
emerged:
$100,000 bond,
with 2
financially
responsible
co-signers to
be found in a
week, and a
curfew with
location
monitoring.
Defense
counsel
agreed, and it
was done; the
defendant
Leonardo Ortiz
was released.
The
case is US v.
Ortiz, et al.,
23-mj-1448
(Cott) - the
case was still
listed as
"under seal"
after the
proceeding.
