By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell book

SDNY MAG COURT Exclusive, Sept 14 – In the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on March 14, 2023 a bail or detention proceeding was held by Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker on a woman who had surrended last week in the Southern District of Florida on wire fraud charges.

Inner City Press covers the SDNY Mag Court(s). Related Mag Court live-tweeted thread (more on Patreon here) vlog here

The Assistant US Attorney said his Office had agreed to release on $50,000 bond and travel including New Jersey.

Judge Parker asked if the defendant, Donna Murray, lives in New Jersey. No, her retained Staten Island-based lawyer answered: she live in Staten Island.

The conditions of release also include no excessive use of alcohol, and no employment in the finance or accounting sectors.

On September 14, 2023, Murray was sentenced to 18 months. After the sentencing her lawyer's memo was belatedly docketed, listing the victim company (Loan Syndications & Trading Association LSTA, and blaming her drug addiction on a car crash. There may be other coverage.

The case is US v. Murray, 23-cr-244 (Engelmayer)
