SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 16 – Elliot
Resnick, formerly of the
Jewish Press when he entered
the U.S. Capitol on January 6,
2021, was arrested in New York
on March 16, 2023 on a
District for the District of
Columbia warrant. Inner
City Press caught wind of and
reported
it that morning:
"today in SDNY
Magistrates Court, Inner City
Press learns we'll see Elliot
Resnick: agent says complied
with DOJ's News Media Policy,”
which says it limits on the
way prosecutors investigate
and charge members of the
press." Tweet here,

At 3:45 pm in the
afternoon, he was presented
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge
Katharine H. Parker, and
released on the US' consent on
$75,000 bond. Inner City Press
live tweeted, thread here:
OK- Jan 6
defendant Elliot Resnick has
been brought into SDNY
Magistrates Court by US
Marshals. There's already a
guy here who says he came to
sign a bond, so it seems a
deal for release.
AUSA: Defendant
was arrested at 6 am today.
Judge: I have a financial
affidavit. I approve
appointment of counsel.
Agent: I need to switch a
"her" to a he / him in my
affidavit. Judge: Done.
Judge
Parker: The complaint involves
January 6 at the Capitol,
including parading therein and
assault of or interference
with law enforcement. Mr
Resnick, do you understand
what you are being charges
with? Resnick: I believe so,
yes.
AUSA: We have
agreed to bail of $75,000 to
be co-signed by his mother. No
DC except for court or to meet
with lawyers. Federal
Defender: OK
Judge: I approve
the package. Mr Resnick, you
will be released today. You
will reside with your mother,
where you have been residing.
Adjourned.
