SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 15 – Ivan Alvarado
Maldonado was arrested with 18
kilos of methamphetamine in a
Ford F-150 truck in The Bronx
with Wisconsin license plate
on February 7, 2023.
He was been
detained since.
He
re-appeared on the morning of
August 1 to plead guilty in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrates Court. Inner
City Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag court.
The plea
deal is for 70 to 87 months,
but says that under new
amendments, it is 57 to 71
months.
On November 1,
Federal Defenders wrote in and
asked for a year and a day.
On November 15,
Maldonado was sentenced to
time served.
