Man Caught with Kilo of Heroin in Storage Locker in June Pleads Guilty in September

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Sept 4 – A man arrested for selling a kilo of heroin to a Confidential Source in New York in June came to plead guilty on September 4 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge George B. Daniels. Inner City Press was there.

The complaint recounts that in a Mirandized post-arrest statement, the defendant said the key recovered from his backpack was the key to the storage unit he had just visited and that the storage unit was his.

Judge Daniels told him there would be immigration consequences.

The allocution was interpreted as "July 2024," which the Federal Defender corrected to "June 2024."  Sentencing was set for January 8, 2025 at 10 am.

The case is US v. Ochoa, 24-cr-393 (Daniels)
