SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 14 – Mark Henderson was
arrested on June 9, 2023 with
four kilos of cocaine in his
car.
In the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District on June 12,
2023 he was released on
$50,000 bond, under home
detention with what travel was
allowed, for work for example,
limited to SDNY, EDNY and New
Jersey.
Henderson
through his Federal Defender
applied to loosen the
condition but was deny by a
second Magistrate Judge on
July 1, 2023.
On
September 14 he tried again
with District Judge Jessica
G.L. Clarke and succeeded, but
with New Jersey travel
dropped. Inner City
Press was there.
The
Assistant US Attorney argued
that nothing had changed but
Henderson not getting arrested
in the last three months.
The Federal
Defender argued that showed he
can be trusted. Judge Clarke
agreed - while asking that the
suretors be checked with, if
they still want to be
co-signers with this
change.
The AUSA chimed
in to asked the New Jersey be
dropped, since Henderson no
longer works there "as a
freelance chef." There was no
objection, and NJ is dropped.
The case is
US v. Henderson, 23-cr-342
(Clarke)
