SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Nov 8 – Shamar Jefferson was
presented as a felon in
possession of ammunition on
November 8, 2023 past 5 pm
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge Sarah
Netburn. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag Court.
The AUSA
described a shoot-out on
Anderson Avenue in The Bronx,
and visual evidence of
Jefferson racking a gun.
The Federal
Defender questioned whether
the live rounds recovered
could be traced to his client,
and asked for release to home
detention.
Judge Netburn said the danger
was too great, and ordered
detention. The preliminary
hearing was not set until the
30th day.
The case
is US v. Jefferson, 23-mj-7133
(Netburn)
