SDNY COURTHOUSE,
Sept 13 – In an expanding
health care fraud, kickback
and money laundering case, on
September 13, 2023 Victor Man
was brought before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag court.
Man had
hired "Inventing Anna" lawyer
Todd Spodek. He had a Chinese
language interpreter on
stand-by but ended up not
needing her. The complaint
says he is also known as "Mr.
Wen."
He pleaded
not guilty and was released,
on the prosecutors' consent,
on $250,000 unsecured bond.
He and his
co-defendants including Mitzy
Baldonvino of The Bronx, whose
arraignment Inner City Press
also witnessed, have a
proceeding set for October 11
before Chief Judge Laura
Taylor Swain.
The case
is US v. Liu, et al.,
21-cr-592 (Swain / Cave)
