Violation of Supervision as AUSA
Cited Rikers Calls Now US Asks
for 2 Years

COURTHOUSE,
Sept 9 – A man previously
convicted as a felon in
possession of a firearm was
brought on violations of
supervised released before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Gary Stein on
March 22. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag Court.
The
Assistant US Attorney said
after an assault, he had
called the victim from Rikers
Island to coach her how to not
pursue charges. Judge Stein
asked if the AUSA had in fact
heard the recorded calls.
No, was the
answer.
Nevertheless,
Judge Stein ordered the
defendant detained, pending an
upcoming hearing with the
assigned District Judge.
On July 17
Guerrero pled guilty to
Specifications 7, 9 through 14
and 20.
On September 9,
the US Attorney's Office wrote
in asking for 24 months
imprisonment on September 11.

is US v. Guerrero,
12-cr-141 (McMahon)
