SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Sept 11 – A man sentenced to
65 months in prison in 2012
was up for sentencing on
Violations of Supervised
Release on September 11, 2024
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Coleen McMahon.
Inner City Press was there,
alone in the gallery of the
large courtroom.
Judge
McMahon said she agreed with
the prosecutors that the
maximum sentence for these
VOSRs, two years, should be
imposed. She disagreed that
supervised release should
continue, finding that the
defendant is not amenable to
supervision.
According
to the prosecutor's sentencing
memo, "the defendant is now
under investigation by federal
authorities" for allegedly
trying to smuggle into the MDC
suboxone and a scalpel.
This case
has been US v. Guerrero,
12-cr-141 (McMahon)
