SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Feb 24 – A defendant
previously convicted of a
felony and now indicted for
having a gun and ammunition
(as well as for assault and
harassment, in state court)
was presented on June 24
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge Robyn F.
Tarnofsky. Inner City Press
was there, the only media in
the SDNY Mag
Court.
Judge
Tarnofsky read out the state
charges, in connection with
the Violation of Supervised
release - on which the
District Judge had set a
proceeding for June 25. On the
new indictment, the defendant
was detained on consent. His
left arm was in a sling.
Jump cut to
January 27, 2025 when Arroyo's
lawyer submitted a request for
81 months, heavily redacted.
On February 4 the
US Attorney's Office wrote in
asking for 168 months.
Docketed on
February 24, Arroyo was
sentenced to 63 months
consecutive to the sentence
imposed on the VOSR.
The case
is USA v. Arroyo, 1:24-cr-347
(Swain / Tarnofsky)
