Man Charged as Felon With Ammo Is Described Falling on Gun as Fled Police So Detained

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Sept 11 – A man charged Federally with being a felon in possession of ammunition was presented on September 11 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the SDNY Mag court.

The AUSA sought detention, and recounted that when the police arrived to arrest the defendant he ran, then fell on top of his gun.

The Federal Defender emphasized that he is a livelong New Yorker, with no passport, who could now live with his mother in Brooklyn.

Judge Cave said she would order the defendant detained. He is set to see the assigned District Judge on October 16.

The case is US v. Gass, 24-cr-523 (Swain / Cave)
