SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Aug 7 – Two women were
arrested for wire fraud in
connection with real estate
"shenanigans," as the
prosecutor put it.
They appeared on
August 7 before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Jennifer E.
Willis. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag court.
The SDNY
prosecutor agreed that lead
defendant Beltran could be
released on $75,000 unsecured
bond, but asked to review if
he son could be one of the
co-signers.
Later he
said the son is named in the
NYPD complaint. Judge Willis
said that may or may not be
true, but the prosecutors
could review it.
The Federal
Defender said the employment
ban while on pre-trial
released should be limited to
being a real estate broker or
agent. Judge Willis said it
would cover all of real
estate.
The case is US v.
Beltre, et al, 24-mj-2844
