SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Aug 29 – After an arrest for
ghost guns in The Bronx early
on August 15 it was announced:
the arrest of FAREED DABIDAH
for possessing numerous fully
automatic firearms,
semi-automatic firearms,
silencers, and dozens of
machinegun conversion devices
in the Bronx. DABIDAH
was arrested this morning and
will be presented later today
in front of U.S. Magistrate
Judge Sarah L. Cave."
Inner City Press was there, in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrates Court, the
only media in the SDNY Mag
court.
The
Assistant US Attorney argued
for detention, citing danger.
The Federal Defender, who had
just made similar arguments
for an armed robbery
defendant, argued for release
on bond.
Judge Cave
sided with the AUSA, and
unlike for the armed robbery
suspect did not schedule a
follow-up hearing for the next
week.
On August 29, the
case was indicted and wheeled
out to District Judge Edgardo
Ramos.
This case is US
v. Dabidah, 24-cr-514 (Ramos)
