COURTHOUSE,
Feb 18 – A dual citizen of
Venezuela and Peru was brought
in shackles on February 18
before on February 18 before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah
Netburn. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
courtroom.
The SDNY
prosecutor said he had been
bought in from ICE custody.
When asked if consular
notification had been provided
she said she did not know. The
second defendant, with the
same last night, had declined
to provide his
nationality.
Both are
charged with guns and
narcotics distribution.
Both were detained on
consent.
The case is
USA v. Oliveras-Chero, et al.,
1:25-mj-487 (Netburn)
