SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
April 16 – A man previously
convicted of a felony was
presented on April 16 before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Sarah L.
Cave. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag court.
The
defendant was in a yellow
prison jumpsuit, seemingly of
the Essex County Correctional
Facility in New Jersey. The
AUSA said he was been arrested
- or taking into Federal
custody - at 8:30 am. He
referred to a 9 mm pistol.
The
assigned CJA lawyer said he
consented to detention,
without prejudice to a
subsequent application.
The case -
still listed as sealed eight
hours later - is USA v.
Barnes, 1:25-mj-1170 (Cave)
