COURTHOUSE,
April 24– A man arrested twice
in a month on Clinton Street
on Manhattan Lower East Side,
with crack cocaine and a gun,
was slated to plead guilty on
April 24 in the U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrates court, which Inner
City Press closes
covers.
But the
plea did not go forward due to
indecision.
The
complaint recounts an arrest
with crack on January 20, 2024
in front of 99 Clinton Street,
and in a car with temporary
Georgia plates in front of 107
Clinton on February 8, 2024.
The
defendant was detained on
consent on February 26, 2024
before then-Magistrate Judge
James L. Cott.
A series of
Magistrate judges signed off
on orders to continue in the
interest of justice, until
April 2024 when a slew of pro
se motions were filed, citing
maggot-infested food in the
MDC among other things.
Now the status of
the case is unclear.
The case
remains USA v. Perry,
1:24-mj-774 (Willis)
