SDNY COURTHOUSE,
June 5 – Terrance
Chalk was
indicted for
securities
fraud through
his Greenlight
Investment
Partners.
Then
his lawyer
quit, and the
new lawyer on
June 5 said he
has been
unable to get
the discovery
from the
previous
lawyer.
U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York Judge
Andrew L.
Carter held a
status
conference.
Inner City
Press covered
it.
The
next lawyer
said he had
want to go to
Journal Square
in New Jersey
and get the
discovery; he
spoke with the
previous
lawyer's son
but he said
technical
problems
blocked
copying of the
discovery.
The
AUSA said this
was the first
he was hearing
of it. A next
status
conference was
set for July
13 at 3:30 pm,
apparently to
then pick a
trial
date.
The
new defense
lawyer said he
has a trial
before Judge
Failla
starting
December
4.
The
case is US v.
Chalk,
21-cr-49
(Carter)
