SDNY COURTHOUSE,
May 29 – Terrance
Chalk was
indicted for
securities
fraud through
his Greenlight
Investment
Partners.
Then
his lawyer
quit, and the
new lawyer on
June 5 said he
has been
unable to get
the discovery
from the
previous
lawyer.
U.S.
District Court
for the
Southern
District of
New York Judge
Andrew L.
Carter held a
status
conference.
Inner City
Press covered
it.
The
next lawyer
said he had
want to go to
Journal Square
in New Jersey
and get the
discovery; he
spoke with the
previous
lawyer's son
but he said
technical
problems
blocked
copying of the
discovery.
The
AUSA said this
was the first
he was hearing
of it.
On
May 7, 2024 he
pled guilty.
Sentencing was
delayed and on
April 25 his
lawyer said
his client is
sick, and
asked for no
prison time on
May 29, 2025.
On
May 15, the US
Attorney's
Office wrote
in assuring
that he could
get medical
care in the
BOP, and
asking for
five years.
On
May 28 the
defense wrote
in saying that
complete
kidney failure
("Stage 5- End
Stage Renal
Discase" -
Disease?) is
different.
On
May 29, he got
three years:
"TERRENCE
CHALK, a/k/a
“Dr. Cash,”
was sentenced
to three years
in prison for
committing
investment
adviser
fraud."
The
case is USA v.
Chalk,
