SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Feb 7 – A man arrested with a
gun in back of a rideshare cab
in the South Bronx in February
who turned out to be a felon
came to plead guilty on June
25 before U.S. District Court
for the Southern District of
New York Magistrate Judge
Robyn F. Tarnofsky. Inner City
Press was there, the only
media in the SDNY Mag
Court.
The complaint
states that the previously
conviction was for gang
assault, and that the gun was
a Raven Arms .25-caliber
semi-automatic pistol.
The
prosecutors have given the
defense a so-called Pimintel
letter estimating the
sentencing guideline as 27 to
33 months. The assigned
District Judge Victor Marrero
set sentencing for February 7.
On January 30,
the defense wrote in noting
that Probation recommends 18
months; the defense asked for
a sentence below the
applicable range.
On February 7, he
was sentenced to 18 months,
then three years of supervised
release.
The case is US v.
Murray, 24-cr-404 (Marrero /
Tarnofsky)
