Man Arrested
on LaSalle Street in Manhattan Sues NYPD
in SDNY For Excessive Force

SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 11 – Ali Moore was taken
into custody by police in
front his building at 70
LaSalle Street in Manhattan on
October 1, 2021.
He is bipolar and
says it was unnecessarily
violent. He sued.
On March 8,
2023 U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Lorna G.
Schofield held a proceeding.
Inner City Press covered
it.
Judge
Schofield ordered the
defendants to produce records
relevant to the incidents by
March 22, with the plaintiff
to amend the complaint by
March 29, addressing
deficiencies raised by
NYCHHC.
If new
individual defendants are
added, Corporation Counsel
must determine whether to
represent them by April 26,
with a later due by May 3 and
discovery stayed until then.
