Aug 5 – For shooting a gun at
1:30 pm on May 11, 2023 in the
middle of White Plains Road
and 219th Street in The Bronx,
Luis Espinal was up for
sentencing on August 5, 2024
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Sidney H. Stein.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the court
room.
The Federal
Defender emphasized that he is
only 22; the prosecution cited
previous arrests, calling one
a "Y/O."
Judge Stein
called the conduct serious,
noting that the victim was
shot through the upper thigh.
He imposed a sentence of 80
months.
