UN GATE,
Feb 11 – How corrupt is the
UN-world system under Antonio
Guterres, who bans the Press
which investigates? This
example is again from ITU,
International
Telecommunication Union, whose
whistleblowers have, like
others, reached out to banned
Inner City Press:
Dear Matthew
Russell Lee:
At the recent
Geneva Group meeting, the ITU
went "cap in hand" to implore
Member States to cover a
supposed shortfall in its
budget, including in satellite
network filings-allegedly 7
million CHF against a 14
million CHF requirement for
2024. However, whistleblowers
reveal a different
story: Deferred Revenue
Maneuver: The ITU actually
received an additional 5
million CHF (bringing the
total to 12 million CHF, not
7) but is labeling this as a
deferred payment for 2025.
This creative
accounting of revenue that has
been received by ITU is
designed to exaggerate a
fiscal crisis, pressuring
Member States to increase
their contributions.
Misallocation of
Funds: Any extra funds
obtained from these increased
contributions are poised to be
funneled into divisions such
as Gender, Legal, HR, and
Transformation-departments
that seem to serve
Bogdan-Martin’s inner
circle-while the
revenue-generating Bureau, is
left neglected. One
whistleblower bluntly stated,
“It’s a cynical shell
game-using fabricated crises
to shake down public funds
that ultimately keep
Bogdan-Martin’s cronies in
power.”
More coming.
After repeated
refusal to respond by
spokespeople including
Stephane Dujarric and Melissa
Fleming, here was the first
complaint on Inner City Press'
DocumentCloud here.
