UN GATE,
June 27 – How corrupt has the
UN become under Antonio
Guterres? The example below is
from the MONUSCO
"peacekeeping" mission in the
Democratic Republic of the
Congo, largely relocated to
Entebbe, sent to Inner City
Press which Guterres and his
Melissa Fleming ban from
entering the UN to ask, while
Spox Stephane Dujarric refuses
written questions [on June 19,
2025 we applied]
On June 27, with
no response from the UN, its
spokesman / censor Stephane
Dujarric past 11 pm issued a
statement "I welcome the
signing of a peace agreement
on 27 June in Washington,
D.C., by the governments of
the Democratic Republic of the
Congo and the Republic of
Rwanda, facilitated by the
United States." Under
Guterres, the UN accomplishes
nothing, bans Press.
Dear SG
Greetings from
Entebbe. Allow me
to bring some issues in
Monusco to your attention for
your digestion and
action. I am
writing from Entebbe where I
have been reassigned from
Goma.
Since I came to
Entebbe 3 months ago I have
been idle. I don't know why I
am here. The people I was
recruited to serve are in Goma
not Entebbe. I understand my
supervisor will be joining me
soon. Two lost
souls! During the
three months I have only read
novels and got paid for it.
I have got my
setting in grant and installed
my family of five. Since
schools and medical facilities
are lacking in Entebbe, after
the allowances hit the
account, my family is back
home. I have invested the
God-sent money in
bonds. Currently I
am reading a novel " Things
Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe.
The old man is gifted. He
begins the novel by quoting
from a poem " The Second
Coming" by W B Yeats which
goes as follows " Turning and
turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the
falconer; Things fall Apart;
the centre cannot hold: Mere
anarchy is loosed upon the
world. " You can read more to
understand what Yeats was
writing about.
Things are
falling apart in MONUSCO under
the stewardship of your SRSG
[and SG].
One is reminded
of a quip by one of the
Presidents in the Great Lakes
region who calls MONUSCO
tourists. True to that, after
seeing the suffering of the
people in Kivus our next
tourist destination is
Entebbe. Shame!
At this rate, by
the end of June 2025, the D
SRSG for protection will be
high and dry with no support.
Does this warrant her stay in
Goma? Probably not. Isn't this
what someone has all along
wished that she goes to
Kinshasa? To protect who? The
sheges or street children? Why
not destuff Kinshasa? What are
all the numbers doing
there? Why are we
running away from Goma when
the protagonists in the war
are near to signing a peace
accord? Don't we have a role
to play? Who is setting up
Monusco for
failure? The
Administration has decreed
that by 1 July all heads of
MSD sections in Goma should be
headed to Entebbe. Only one
such head of Section who
played a heroic role of ceding
his office to the Romanian
girl that had come on a frolic
to Goma and was caught up in
the war as reported in the
inner city press will be
staying."
And the
scoops just keep on coming.
Keep it coming - the Press
must be restored.
