UN GATE,
Feb 24 – How corrupt is
today's UN under Antonio
Guterres? Today's follow up is
again on his mission in South
Sudan, UNMISS, about which his
spokespeople Stephane Dujarric
and Melissa Fleming refuse all
Press questions. Inner City
Press has asked them, and
others, about the newest sex
abuse case against the UN
there. Now this, from a UN
whistleblower sent to Inner
City Press:
Dear Mr. Matthew
Russell Lee:
Ms. LLONIA
ALEKSIUNAITE, a Civil Affairs
Officer at UNMISS, ended up in
a real bingle on the 15th of
February, 2025, when she went
off her rocker and attacked
her colleague, Mr. Oleg, who's
a contractor in the
Accommodation Unit.
The scrap was so
full-on it left Mr. Oleg
bleeding on the floor of his
digs. That same day, Ms.
ALEKSIUNAITE had a few more
stoushes with other blokes at
the compound. Previously,
she'd been collared for DUI
right smack in the middle of
the mission area. Her case was
sent up to the big wigs in New
York but was slyly squashed by
the Code of Conduct Unit,
rumored because of her mates
up top in the Mission.
She and her gang
have been giving the male
staff a hard time, threatening
to rat them out to the conduct
unit if they don't toe the
line. Some of the fellas have
even been muscled into cooking
up chooks to win favors with
UN big shots—either to nab
promotions or dodge the bullet
of losing their jobs or other
career dramas.
As per the
word from Inner City Press,
the former Chief of Staff is
slated to be the next UNMISS
SRSG. The current Chief of
Staff, Leda Limann, is in the
running for DSRSG. The former
ICC staffer, now eyeing the
DSRSG gig, is expected to
climb the ladder once the
former chief steps in.
Kenyans remain
excluded, but getting out of
the firing line at
the ICC takes precedence,
it seems.
Guterres,
they say, should resign or
lose immunity - and end
censorship. Watch this site.
