To UN South Sudan Scandals Exposed by Inner City Press Now Animal Cruelty Is Added

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

UN GATE, Feb 25 – How corrupt is today's UN under Antonio Guterres? Today's follow up is again on his mission in South Sudan, UNMISS, about which his spokespeople Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming refuse all Press questions. Inner City Press has asked them, and others, about the newest sex abuse case against the UN there. Now this, from a UN whistleblower sent to Inner City Press:

Dear Mr. Matthew Russell Lee:

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has been implicated in the frequent and inhumane killing of cats and dogs within its compound, as depicted in distressing images.

This grievous situation exposes a stark contradiction between the mission's actions and the United Nations' avowed principles of advocating for animal rights.  Sources within the mission have reported that cats and dogs are regularly killed and their bodies carelessly discarded behind water plants, in bushes, and along ditches and canals. We have a photo.

This practice not only reflects a grave ethical lapse but also raises serious questions about the mission’s commitment to the humanitarian values it purports to uphold.  Despite repeated alerts to the management, no substantial action has been taken to mitigate these practices or hold those responsible accountable.

This undermines the integrity of UNMISS and, by extension, the global image of the United Nations. This scandal serves as a poignant reminder of the disparity between declared values and actual practices on the ground.

Guterres, they say, should resign or lose immunity - and end censorship. Watch this site.
