EDNY COURTHOUSE,
Dec 27 – In the U.S. District
Court for the Eastern District
of New York at noon on
December 27, a proceeding was
held by District Judge Pamela
K. Chen on a defendant charged
with enticing a Jane Do victim
under 18 years of age into
sexual misconduct. Inner City
Press covered it. Indictment here.
The
defendant, Rigoberto Garcia,
was indicted and arrested in
October 2021 and has been
detained since.
Calling it
a complex case, Judge Chen set
the next conference for
February 28, 2022 and excluded
time under the Speedy Trial
Act until then. She said that
next conference, which she
called non-substantive, would
also have a public call-in
line.
The case is US v.
Rigoberto Garcia, 21-cr-540
(Chen).
