SDNY COURTHOUSE,
March 11 -- On the charge of
Escape, on March 11 at 3:30 pm
Shawn Olszemski was presented
in U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court.
Magistrate
Judge Ona T. Wang was
presiding, with her March 10
order about using Purell upon
entering the Mag Court on the
door, for
Coronavirus. The
Court had a half dozen
Assistant US Attorneys, but
Inner City Press was the only
media present.
Shawn Olszemski consented to
detention and was led out, as
he had been led in, by U.S.
Marshals. Inner City Press
subsequently obtained the
docket number: 17-mj-7569. But
this three year old case,
still not wheeled out to a
district Judge, is listed as
"under seal."
So is Shawn
Olszemski a cooperator? If his
Mag Court number is from 2017,
when has it not moved to a
public proceeding before a
District Judge? Inner City
Press, which has questions
pending, will continue to
pursue this. The case is US v.
Olszemski,17-mj-7569
(Wang).
