As Landauer Sues Medstar Over Name Judge Engelmayer Urges Them To Settle

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 9 –        Landauer is a company based in Illinois that sells radiation safety products. Medstar in based in Roslyn Heights, New York and also sells medical equipemtn - now with the name Laudauer from a bankrupt company it bought.  

Landauer has sued Medstar and on June 9 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Paul A. Engelmayer held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

 After inquiring into the specifics of consumer confusion, Judge Engelmayer urged the parties to try to settle the dispute before spending too much in legal fees.

The case is Landauer, Inc. v. Medstar Surgical and Breathing Equipment Company, Inc., 20-cv-867 (Engelmayer).
