In SDNY Now Winder Casilla Indicted For Mailing Drugs To Himself in The Bronx

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - The Source

SDNY COURTHOUSE, January 21 – Back on December 26 a defendant named Winder Casilla was presented and provisionally offered bail on narcotics charges in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court.

At the time, the Complaint was US v. Winder Casilla and described a package it said Casilla had mailed from Houston to New York addressed to one "Angel Martinez" in The Bronx.

On January 21 the defendant re-appeared in Magistrates Court, this time to be arraigned on what is now an indictment, US v. Winder Casilla a/k/a "Angel Martinez." That is to say, the allegation is that the defendant was mailing it to himself.  The now-indicted case is US v. Casilla, 20-cr-42 (Berman).

Back in December the hang up was getting US Pre-Trial Services to check his apartment on West Creek Lane in Houston, Texas, and how he will fly back and forth to New York for court appearances with an ankle bracelet on. He has a retained counsel named Edward Picardo. The case was then US v. Casilla, 19-mj-11952. Now it has been indicted and "wheeled out" to SDNY District Judge Richard M. Berman.
