By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Maxwell Book
BBC-Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN NY Mag

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 6 – A man who pled guilty to killing his estranged wife in 2017 at Sea Gate, Brooklyn, has a number of prison condition lawsuits against the City of New York.

On June 6, 2022 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Valerie Figueredo held a proceeding Inner City Press covered it.

The case involves Corrections Officer allegedly spraying Gabino Genao with a fire extinguisher.

Using the prison law library, Genoa is seeking copies of the Department of Corrections policies for such use.

Judge Figueredo said she is ready to sign an order requiring disclosure, but first wants to see a protective order and proposed redactions.

There are also questions about video, and retention, in the case(s).

This case is Genao v. City of New York et al., 21-cv-301 (Torres / Figueredo)
