Head of CloudTalk Fired Levy Then Traveled To Israel Now Diversity Questions in SDNY

By Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon
BBC - Guardian UK - Honduras - ESPN

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 1 – Isaac Levy was Chief Technology Officer of CloudTalk until that company's Jonathan Frankel terminated him without paying severance, and then moved to Israel.

On March 1, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John G. Koeltl held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

The move to Israel was discussed as relevant to diversity jurisdiction. Judge Koeltl asked why a motion had been filed without the pre-motion conference required by his rules.

The explanation, candidly, was a lack of experience with or research into those rules.

Judge Koeltl asked the parties to submit a letter by March 12, describing their proposed resolution of the issue of diversity jurisdiction including any plans for any motions to dismiss.

The case is Levy v. Cloudtalk, Inc. et al., 20-cv-10545 (Koeltl)
