UN GATE, June
6 – How
lawless, some
even say
racist, is
today's UN and
its Department
of Global
Communication?
As Inner City
Press
exclusively
reported,
before being
banned by UNSG
Antonio
Guterres and
DGC now under
Melissa
Fleming,
Kiswahili jobs
and funds that
the General
Assembly
specified to
DGC must
be returned
and retained
are
nevertheless
being
eliminated or
"stolen."
Responsible
for beginning
this theft of
African
resources was
DGC chief
Alison Smale.
Without due
process she banned
the Press,
then made
false claims
about its
Periscope
broadcasts
including it
was said from
near her home
(which Inner
City Press had
no idea or
interest where
it was). Now
Inner City
Press while
covering the
UN from its
gate, with
leaks, covers
the Federal
courts. But
the corruption
and
colonialism of
the UN cannot
be cover up by
its
censorship.
Now Smale,
retired from
active
censorship,
outs herself
on Facebook
with a post
locating
herself at
Madison Avenue
in the 30s,
with a
"Leopoldville"
like account
of looters.
The UN of
Guterres,
Smale and now
Fleming is
racist, as
well as being
censors. We'll
have more on
this.
Here was an
earlier
complaint to
Inner City
Press from a
DGC
whistleblower,
who despite
the UN's
recent
statements
(and on the
record answers
to Inner City
Press) that
staff are free
to speak to
the press
nevertheless,
understandably
skeptical,
requested
anonymity
which we grant
and will
grant: "This
is my
complaint
about racism,
oppression and
abuse of power
in Department
of Public
Information
(DPI) . There
is a lot of
injustice
going on in
the management
does not care
who they hurt,
mistreat and
ruin as long
as they get
what they want
for their own
interests. For
example
recently there
was
establishement
of new social
media team
which took two
people from
each language
unit from UN
News (16)
people from 8
languages
which are 6
official
languages plus
Portuguese and
Kiswahili who
are non
official
languages, one
P-3 and 1 G-6
from each
language.
Regardless
that this is
against the GA
resolution
which
established
the posts. The
management
went ahead and
do it anyway
without
consulting the
people and
units
concerned or
the GA. This
left a huge
burden to the
language news
teams both
official and
much worse to
non official
languages.
December 23
resolution
number 66/246
paragraph 73,
74 (attached)
requested the
SG to return
the two staff
members of the
non-official
languages
Portuguese and
Kiswahili back
to their
original posts
to act
according to
the Resolution
that
established
the posts
which is 75
(2011).
Unfortunately
USG and DPI
Director
collude with
Social Media
to undermine
and defying
the GA
resolution and
went even far
to call that
was presented
on behalf of
African Group
and G-77
“Rubbish”
because it was
involving
Africa . If
this is not
discrimination,
then what it
is?
Surprisingly
everything is
done in the
name of SG,
these “Big
Dogs” always
use his name
in
implementing
things and
claim that SG
do not like
radio, he can
even kill it
ad retain
social media.
Sadly, those
people
concerned
(From Africa)
when they
tried to
question the
rationale they
have been
threatened and
even punished
by either
making sure
their
contracts are
not extended
or never
regarded for
any promotion.
Is very sad
the social
media team
staff know
that is wrong
and
discrimination,
but they are
too afraid to
speak up.
Because the
so-called
chief of
Social media
team comes
from powerful
rich nation
and she thinks
she is above
everything
even the law.
She uses bad
language,
insults people
and does what
she wants
because she
knows the
management is
on her side.
Why? That’s a
million-dollar
Question. I
have watched
this happen
for years and
years people
bending the
rules
according to
their
interest,
abuse their
power.
Harassing
people and get
away with it.
Now I think is
only fair to
expose
injustice.
Discrimination
and unfairness
which I have
seen going on
for more than
two decades
and I don’t
want the
generation to
come
particularly
in DPI from a
certain part
of the world
to suffer like
their brothers
and sisters
who they
deserve to be
promoted for
the good work,
but they will
never get that
chance if they
do is
temporary and
when it comes
to fixed or
continuous
contract only
special people
have the right
to get
that.... USG
Smale is
trying as much
as possible to
make sure the
resolution is
undermined,
for the
interest of
her group.
They lied to
SG that since
the
establishment
of Social
Media Group,
almost 6
months ago
they added
number of
followers up
to 3 millions
per language.
That is not
true, they did
what they call
Global
Merging,
however
Kiswahili
followers have
dropped for
more than 150%
, from 255,000
to 90,000. I
will try to
call you today
so as we can
meet, I have a
lot of
information,
including
retaliating
and punishing
those who are
against this
racism and use
of power like
me." We'll

this - as
noted, Smale
never answered
written
questions,
just as those
around her
including Hua
Jiang and
Darrin Farrant
have failed to
response or
provide any
explanations
for some time.
On the
afternoon of
February 1,
Inner City
Press asked
DPI if there
was any
response at
all to its
petition of 10
days before,
with a January
31 deadline.
No, there
wasn't. No
response at
all. The UN
has no content
neutral rules,
no "waiting
list," only
raw censorship
of critical
views, and
impunity. But
the
whistleblowers
are coming
forward. Inner
City Press,
which while it
pursued the
story of
Macau-based
businessman Ng
Lap Seng's
bribery of
President of
the General
Assembly John
Ashe was
evicted by the
UN Department
of Public
Information
from its
office, is
STILL confined
to minders as
it pursues the
new UN bribery
scandal, of
Patrick Ho and
Cheikh Gadio
allegedly
bribing
President of
the General
Assembly Sam
Kutesa, and
Chad's Idriss
Deby, for CEFC
China Energy.How

Guterres' first
interaction with UN staff was
a Town Hall meeting on January
9. Even though it was on the
UN's public website, when
Inner City Press live-streamed
it on Periscope
for the impacted public to see
it received a threat that this
violated unspecified
UN's guidelines. This was an
accelerating pattern in
Guterres' first year: threats
to Press for unspecified
violations, such as that of Maher Nasser on
October 20, and a total
failure to respond or reform
by Nasser's then boss, Alison
Smale. The he and she
got more lawless, ousting the
Press that reported on them,
and arrogant and also colonial
Melissa Fleming continues the
ban without due process. We'll
