Amid Slaughter In Yemen UN Guterres Told Sweden But Not Public Job's Grundberg's Now

By Matthew Russell Lee, CJR PFT NY Post List

UN GATE, August 6 – UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on 27 March 2018 lavished praise on Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman now accused with respect to Jamal Khashoggi, accepting a $930 million check from the Saudis and UAE, with not a word of the Saudi led bombing campaign that has killed civilians and caused cholera in Yemen. While his team still has MOU(s) with MBS, Guterres conceals others of his financial links.

Then alongside COVID-19 cases and more slaughter in Yemen, Guterres while refusing to answer the Press or tell the public obviously told Swedish insiders he was dole out the Yemen envoy post to Hans Grundberg. Inner City Press reported this mid-July.

Former DSG Jan Eliasson has tweeted - on July 15 no less - that "A success for Sweden's mediation traditions that the diplomat Hans Grundberg has just been appointed Special Envoy for the UN in Yemen.  Congratulations to all concerned!"

And former UN Envoy on Sexual Violence and Conflict Margot Wallstrom, who used to answer Inner City Press' questions but did and said nothing when Inner City Press was roughed up and banned by Guterres, has tweeted, "Congratulations to Swedish diplomat Hans Grundberg who has been appointed UN special envoy for Yemen! And Thank you Martin Griffiths for your dedicated hard work for the Yemeni people."

Yet Guterres' spokespeople Dujarric, Farhan Haq and Melissa Fleming who refuses to answer her mail, even from law firms, did not answer any of Inner City Press' questions or confirm this. The UN is dying - ever more corrupt.

Now weeks later, still with no answer to Inner City Pres including to a police law firm letter to Melissa Fleming, this: "United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Hans Grundberg of Sweden as his Special Envoy for Yemen.  Mr. Grundberg succeeds Martin Griffiths (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) who has been appointed as Under‑Secretary‑General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)." Deck chairs on the Titanic.

Past 4 pm on Friday, August 30 the UN issued a denial of accreditation with no reasoning other than that accreditation had previously been revoked:

"From: malu at un dot org
Date: Fri, Aug 30, 2019 at 4:23 PM
Subject: U.N. eAccreditation request for Matthew Lee Ref # M5413398 has been declined
To: Inner City Press:

Greetings Matthew Lee from Inner City Press,  Your media accreditation request, with reference no: M5413398, has been declined for the following reason: Media accreditation was withdrawn on 17 August 2018."

This is Kafka-esque, and corrupt. We will have more, much more, on this.
