After SBF Sentenced to 25 Years OKed to Stay MDC for Appeal Ryan Salame Asks 18 Months

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 22 – On the US v Sam Bankman-Fried trial, hours after the guilty verdict, a book was published: "Crypto Criminal: The Conviction of Sam Bankman-Fried: As live tweeted and investigated from inside the SDNY courthouse by Matthew Russell Lee," paperback coming (in the morning?) for now, 200 page ebook here.

Late on May 14, Ryan Salame wrote in to ask for a (much) below guideline sentence of 18 months, Inner City Press tweeted the photo.

On May 21, the US Attorney's Office on Salame asked for a sentence between five to seven years. 28 page filing on Patreon here.

On May 22, Judge Kaplan approved SBF's request to stay at MDC Brooklyn for his appeal: "the Court RECOMMENDS to the Bureau of Prisons that defendant Samuel Bankman-Fried remain confined at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, until his appeal has been fully briefed to facilitate access to appellate counsel. Signed by Judge Lewis A. Kaplan on 5/22/2024."
