COURTHOUSE,
April 26 – Ibrahim Ndiaye was
arrested and detained in July
2023 charged with being a
felon in possession of a
firearm, to wit, a .380
caliber Bersa semi-automatic
pistol.
On December
22 Ndiaye appeared before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jennifer L. Rochon.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the
courtroom.
Judge
Rochon read out a decision,
denying Ndiaye's motion to
dismiss based on the Supreme
Court's Bruen
decision.
Right after,
Ndiaye's Federal Defender said
they would move toward a
guilty plea with a Pimintel
letter estimating the
sentencing guideline. That was
set for January 25, 2024
And on that day,
it happened: "Minute Entry for
proceedings held before Judge
Jennifer L. Rochon: Change of
Plea Hearing as to Ibrahim
Ndiaye held on 1/25/2024. Plea
entered by Ibrahim Ndiaye (1)
Guilty as to Count 1.
Defendant withdrew not guilty
plea and plead guilty to Count
1 of the Indictment. PSI
ordered. Sentencing scheduled
for April...
On April 26,
Ndiaye was sentenced to 24
months, "to run consecutively
to any state sentence."
The case is US v.
Ndiaye, 23-cr-321 (Rochon)
