April 8 – Shawn Stewart was
working at 140 Alcott Place in
The Bronx on September 25,
2019 when he was handcuffed by
two NYPD officers and
questioned. He sued.
On April 8,
2024 the trial began, before
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Jed S. Rakoff. Inner
City Press was there.
The jury
was shown a long video of
Stewart handcuffed by the
elevators, filmed by the
officers' body cams. He
complained repeatedly about
the handcuffs being too
tight.
The case is
Stewart v. Davis, et al.,
22-cv-3583 (Rakoff)
