Illegal Reentry Case Will Turn on Audio File So SDNY Judge Offers to Order ICE to Produce It

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 1 – A man named Eduardo Suazo Nunez a/k/a Francisco Cruz is charged with illegal reentry of the United States in an indictment in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. SDNY Judge Lewis J. Liman held a conference on March 29. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the courtroom.

Inquiry made into an audio file in the possession of ICE. Judge Liman offered to issue an order to try to get it; the AUSA said he may write in for that.

The Federal Defender said the case will turn on that audio, and a possible motion. She said she does not anticipate it going to trial.

The case is US v. Suazo Nunez, 24-cr-186 (Liman)
