SDNY MAG COURT
EXCLUSIVE, Feb 5 - In
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York on October 18, three bond
proceedings were held by
Magistrate Judge Sarah
Netburn. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
Mag Court.
The three
defendants, presented
together, were all charged
with conspiracy to commit bank
fraud and access device fraud.
They were arrested (much)
earlier in the day, at 4:15 am
and 6 am.
The first
listed defendant, Mr. Zang,
had a Chinese interpreter. All
three were ordered released on
$100,000 bond with three
co-signers in two weeks. One
of the defendants was
permitted to travel to New
Jersey to meet with his CJA
lawyer.
Jump cut to
February 5, 2024 when
co-defendant Shijun Liu
appeared without notice in the
SDNY Mag court to get a
deferred prosecution
agreement. Inner City Press
was there. The reason for this
disposition was not
explained...
The case is US v.
Zhang, et al., 22-mj-8263
(Netburn)
