COURTHOUSE, Jan 30 –
Elliot Resnick, formerly of
the Jewish Press when he
entered the U.S. Capitol on
January 6, 2021, was arrested
in New York on March 16, 2023
on a District for the District
of Columbia warrant.
Inner City Press caught wind
of and reported
it that morning:
"today in SDNY
Magistrates Court, Inner City
Press learns we'll see Elliot
Resnick: agent says complied
with DOJ's News Media Policy,”
which says it limits on the
way prosecutors investigate
and charge members of the

At 3:45 pm in the
afternoon, he was presented
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Magistrate Judge
Katharine H. Parker, and
released on the US' consent on
$75,000 bond. Inner City Press

OK- Jan 6
defendant Elliot Resnick has
been brought into SDNY
Magistrates Court by US
Marshals. There's already a
guy here who says he came to
sign a bond, so it seems a
deal for release.
AUSA: Defendant
was arrested at 6 am today.
Judge: I have a financial
affidavit. I approve
appointment of counsel.
Agent: I need to switch a
"her" to a he / him in my
affidavit. Judge: Done.
Judge
Parker: The complaint involves
January 6 at the Capitol,
including parading therein and
assault of or interference
with law enforcement. Mr
Resnick, do you understand
what you are being charges
with? Resnick: I believe so,
yes.
AUSA: We have
agreed to bail of $75,000 to
be co-signed by his mother. No
DC except for court or to meet
with lawyers. Federal
Defender: OK
Judge: I approve
the package. Mr Resnick, you
will be released today. You
will reside with your mother,
where you have been residing

"Elliot Resnick, 40, of New
York, New York, pleaded guilty
in the District of Columbia to
one count of obstructing law
enforcement during a civil
disorder, a felony. U.S.
District Court Judge Rudolph
Contreras scheduled a
sentencing hearing for June
12,
2024.
According to court documents,
Resnick traveled via bus from
New York City to Washington,
D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021. Court
documents say that Resnick,
the Chief Editor of The Jewish
Press, a news media
organization, did not travel
to Washington, D.C., in his
official capacity, nor was he
acting in his official
capacity as Chief Editor
during any of the actions or
events of Jan. 6, 2021."
