Exclusive,
April 25 – Kyle White was
presented and ordered released
on February 15 for running -
twice - a Telegram service
named "The Ho Zone."
In the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court, Inner City
Press was the only media
present. Exclusive thread:
Prosecutor: The
Ho Zone back up account cannot
be controlled. Longyear: It's
on the phone the FBI now
has... This case will hinge on
mitigation, expert reports on
his mental health
Longyear:
His parents both work at
financial institutions, there
might be issues with Pre-Trial
Services monitoring their
laptops.
AUSA: He could
have someone else get him a
phone. Judge: There are
conditions on which I can
release you - and so I will
Story soon
There's
more Judge: Mr Jason White
must tell Pre Trial where his
son goes on the Internet AUSA:
He uses
Telegram...OnlyFans...TikTok
Judge: No
Internet browser on the TV
AUSA: He can download the
TikTok app onto the TV
Defense: I didn't know that
Defense:
When can he get out? AUSA: We
ask for a stay to appeal
Judge: Until noon tomorrow
And the
Part 1 Judge reversed and
ordered White to remain in
detention. The case is still
sealed, so there was no
notice. But a participant
informed Inner City Press of
the result.
On February 26,
White switched from his former
SDNY prosecutor (retained)
counsel to the Federal
Defender.
On April 25 the
Federal Defenders filed a
request for bail to District
Judge Paul A. Engelmayer,
noting among other things that
White has "extreme phobias and
aversions to a wide variety of
foods" and can't eat properly
in the MDC. "He considers
certain types of chicken
nuggets safe to eat, but not
chicken generally." He wants
to go home with only a
PlayStation for Netflix and
Hulu, he says.
The case is US v.
White, 24-mj-177 (Gorenstein)
