by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 23 – A man previously convicted as a felon in possession of a firearm was brought on violations of supervised released before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Gary Stein on March 22. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the SDNY Mag Court.

The Assistant US Attorney said after an assault, he had called the victim from Rikers Island to coach her how to not pursue charges. Judge Stein asked if the AUSA had in fact heard the recorded calls.

 No, was the answer.

Nevertheless, Judge Stein ordered the defendant detained, pending an upcoming hearing with the assigned District Judge.

The case is  US v. Guerrero, 12-cr-141 (McMahon / Stein)
