SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
May 25 – In Floral Park at 6
in the morning on May 23,
Laquan Williams was arrested
on charges of bank fraud and
aggravated identity theft.
He was
presented before U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York
Magistrate Judge Jennifer E.
Willis. Inner City Press was
there, the only media in the
SDNY Mag court.
The AUSA
sought detention on risk of
flight grounds, and the
assigned CJA defense lawyer
said he consented to
detention. The unsealed
indictment is bare
bones.
The case is
US
v. Williams, 24-cr-317
(Swain / Willis)
