COURTHOUSE,
May 31 –A U.S. Navy bribery
scandal indicted in DC
resulted in an arrest and
presentment in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court which Inner
City Press covered on May
31.
Meghan Messenger
was presented, charged with
bribery of Adm. Robert Burke,
for Next Jump. It was agreed
she be released on her own
recognizance and that "Ms.
Messenger is permitted to
issue global statements and
periodic updates about the
case as necessary for business
operations purposes." Yongchul
Kim was released on the same
terms.
Meghan
Messenger was assigned as
Criminal Justice Act counsel,
as it happened, a long time
senior SDNY prosecutor, now at
a white shoe law
firm.
