SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
July 1 – Wilkin Guerrero from
the Dominican Republic has
been arrested for the second
time for illegal re-entry of
the United States.
On June 27 after
pleading guilty he appeared
for sentencing before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Arun Subramanian. Inner
City Press was
there.
The US Attorney's
Office asked for 37 months;
the defense asked for less,
emphasizing that Guerrero no
longer has the same incentive
to come back. Family members
he used to work to support
have died. He has been offered
a job on a farm back in the
Dominican Republic.
Judge
Subramanian sentenced Guerrero
to 24 months and two years of
supervised release.
The case is
US v. Guerrero, 23-cr-616
(Subramanian)
