SDNY
COURTHOUSE,
Feb 9 – Back on August 26,
2020 Douglas Waterman posted
on social media, "I am
offering my services to stop
the enemy. I am 54 years old.
I would gladly beat and even
kill those rioters."
He was
charged with Threatening
Interstate Communications.
On
February 9, 2024 Waterman
represented by two Federal
Defenders appeared before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Andrew L. Carter. Inner
City Press was there.
While a
trial had been set for April
2024, on February 9 the SDNY
prosecutors were putting
forward a Deferred Prosecution
Agreement under which, if
Waterman sins no more in the
next six months, the charged
go away.
He not
surprisingly agreed to it. The
control date is August 30,
2024.
The case
is, or was, US v. Waterman,
21-cr-228 (Carter)
