After Shooting Growing from Bronx Barbershop Felon Drops Detained Counsel for SDNY CJA

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 1 – Emmanuel Cobb is charged with being a felon in possession of ammunition, in connection with a shooting or duel in the Bronx with a co-defendant he met up with in a barber shop.

A bail or jail proceeding was held on June 1 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker. Inner City Press was there.

Cobb had previously retained counsel, from Kew Gardens.

But on June 1 he submitted a CJA affidavit and got a publicly-funded lawyer.

He consented to detention and will next be seen by the assigned District Judge, J. Paul Oetken.

The case is US v. Cobb, 22-cr-43 (Oetken)
