Nivar pled
guilty in June
2020 to having
been a felon
in possession
of a firearm.
He
was sentenced
on October 7,
2020 to time
served and
three years of
supervised
release by
U.S. District
Court for the
Southern
District of
New York Judge
Analisa
Torres.
On May 16,
2023, Sumlin
was before
Judge Torres
again on
violations of
supervised
release. Inner
City Press was
there and
covered
it.
Nivar's
Federal
Defender asked
for no jail
time; the AUSA
asked for four
months.
Judge
Torres
recounted the
violations of
conditions,
and imposed a
four month
sentence.
